Web 2.0 lessons everywhere...

Now that we have learned alot of new web 2.0 tools I am constantly thinking about how this would work in the classroom. We were asked to create a blog lesson and a podcasting lesson. These ideas came so easily because I feel like the options are endless. I guess I am lucky I teach high school becasue most of the kids are familar with podcasts, making videos and reading or even writing blogs. They enjoy it and they feel a connection to what they do outside of school. When I was writing the lesson for podcasting I had the idea to tie into oprah's big campaign on no texting while driving (No phone zone). This would be a perfect authentic problem for driver ed, then just a few days ago I was looking at her website and she actually is hosting a competition right now for making No phone zone PSA's. This is another great tool and a great authentic problem. As I said, the possibilites seem endless and it is exciting to see what great ideas these kids have and let their creativity shine.

  1. Great idea, Val. The opportunities are endless with our new tools. We can take a once boring curriculum and make it fun and exciting.
